me and running

There are two quotes which basically describe me and my attitude or my motivation towards running.

One is this: "I may not be there yet, but I'm closer than I was yesterday.

The other one is:
"Some may need motivation to run, I need to run to get motivated."
This is precisely what drives me to run. Remembering this is what helped me finish my first race a couple of weeks ago.

I've just finished my first 72km training in 4 weeks. This is merely a first step as I aim to run 60km per week, but I'm getting there. Step by step, km by km.

And this basically has become my life. Running and the love for peculiar things. Meticulously I study these things. I am looking forward to combine these things with another passion of my life soon - travelling.
Taking part in races all around the globe, wandering the earth, showing my appreciation for the nature that surrounds us. In a little while, again.

Here a song I recently listen to a lot while running. It's by the late Rei Harakami. What a great great musician.

So far.
Cheers.

cranes

These days are so distant to it all
Heat and concrete.
The big city, it lies here
like a wounded bird.
And me, too.. me, too;
I think as always way too much.
There is always something
that lulls and paralyses me.
And if it's not the heat,
then my stubbornness
or my incredible sensitivity.
And I wait for the evening
and its relaxing, chilly hand
down at the river
with my feet covered in sand
glancing

at these enormous animals
with metallic claws
with neon lighted eyes
and the containers which fall
with terrific rumbling
into the hungry hold
of an aged cargo ship,
and my heart, it's also rumbling,

Take me with you,
Take me with you,
fickle humility,
flap your crooked wings around me.
This head, oh this head,
aggrandises itself way too much,
Oh, unfathomable life,
what do we know about it?
We were born and we die
and the wind will continue to blow without alteration
and a human being walks on the steps
down to the river,
puts his head into the night
and digs his legs in sand and observes

these enormous animals
with metallic claws
with neon lighted eyes
and the containers which fall
with terrific rumbling
into the hungry hold
of an aged cargo ship,
and my heart, it's also rumbling,

Oh, I hope it won't get lost,
how confused it is
on this never-ending search
for a little bit more light,
whatever that might be.
