ALMA / acidman - ALMA PV

ACIDMAN ALMA from makki on Vimeo.

beautiful song, awesome PV.
Nothing more to say.

edit://
Okay, have something to say.
The video was shot at 5000m altitude in the Atacama desert in Chile. People look at the pictures in this video. This is freaking amazing. I sure wanna travel this place one day soon.

The gigantic radio telescope you see in this video is one of 66 in this area. However this project financed by North America,Europe and Japan hasn't completely launched yet.
With a cost in excess of one billion US dollars, it is the most ambitious ground-based telescope currently under construction. ALMA (Atacama Large Millimeter Array) will begin scientific observations in the second half of 2011, and should be fully operational by the end of 2012.
ALMA is expected to provide insight on star formation in the early universe and imaging local star and planet formation in great detail (source wikipedia - sorry folks I would have tried explaining it myself, but I have no clue about astronomy).

Here some more pictures (not from the video).

and last but not least.
a picture from the Atacama desert.

And once again,
there is so much beauty on this planet. We can't let it go to waste and we need to protect it. :)
It's not as difficult as some might think. Everyone can do something.
